A Golden Dream in the Golden State #w5

I went on a trip to the Golden State- San Francisco in November last year. I have to say, it would probably be a really important piece in my "core memory". (the memory island in Inside Out) Let me use my poor ability of describing to show you some of my memories.💁💅👯 Every scenery in the Golden State is new to me, so my eyes sparkled in every moment. I will show you some of the pictures I took. I cherish these photos sosososososo much. Not only because they're one of the most beautiful scenes I'd ever seen, but they also signifies my deepest dream. (also, I think the pictures look really good😙)(my wall paper) I shared only a tiny part of my gallery.💃💨(I have to admit that I don't have enough time to organize my pic) God I wish I gave myself more time for this article. This really means a lot to me.😑😐💀

Actually, my purpose to San Francisco wasn't just for travelling. My aunt Monica passed away last year, so I went there to attend her farewell ceremony. She had been fighting against cancer for many years. She healed two years ago, but recurred again a few months before her passed away. I joined her farewell ceremony the day after I arrived, so it was really exhausted. I thought the farewell ceremony was going to be boring and lengthy; however, the funeral and the cemetery were totally different from here in Taiwan. The weather there was perfect. The ceremony was held outdoor, and it was cool with bright sunshine.(sorry 'bout the poor description) The weather was like: you won't feel cold when wearing short sleeves, but you won't feel hot with long sleeves either. (bad description again but it was perfect for me) When the worship band leaders sang Amazing Grace, it was the most amazing voice I had never heard in live. (not kidding) I did not feel sorrow, instead, I felt warm and hearty.

I spent a few hours taking a small trip on the cable car, it was really interesting. Apart from any facilities in Taiwan, they didn't warn anyone to stay safe while not sticking our heads out of the car. Instead, you can even stand outside the car and hold a single handle to hold you. What's more, when we arrived at downtown, I was scared. I saw several homeless and got frightened when one of them came standing next to us. However, the next moment, HE STARTED SINGING WITH MICROPHONE. The weirdest part is that HE SOUNDS ACTUALLY GOOD, so we even gave him an applause and some tips.

I watched the Golden Gate Bridge in many angles, and it was fabulous. IT WAS REALLY FABULOUS. Unlike what I saw on TV, it was so real and spectacular. (I sound uncool but yah I felt stunning every single time I refresh myself with the pictures and recalling the memories.)

The scariest thing I encountered was when we drove through Vaness Avenue, I discover that what I saw on videos about the homeless and the drug addicts-- THEY ARE REAL. I saw them sitting on streets, and a woman standing beside the bus stop USING DRUGS. OOOOH MYYYY GOOOOD.

Another memorable place I went was to the Palace of Fine Arts. What's funny was that it's not a building with art displays. I don't even think it's a building. BUT IT WAS GORGEOUS.

The best picture to me was the Ferris wheel. I felt like taking a series of internet pictures coming from Pinterest. If you look into the picture, you can even see a small helicopter in the middle.

I went to Stanford University to feel the atmosphere of extreme intelligent people. I always thought if I could have the honor to be one of the students, I would be so proud and enjoy the life there so much because their campus is beautiful.(also the weather was so nice, I felt I could just lay on the grass for an entire day)

Except the scenery, the food there IS AMAZING. I HAD SOME OF THE BEST FOOD IN MY LIFE.I tried the food truck there, and it looks like regular tacos, but it turned out AMAZING. I ate a lot tacos there, and I never thought I would like it so so much. I miss the food there, but of course, NOT THE PRICE. Everything I bought there was bought with my eyes closed.😢🙏If you like tacos, highly recommend Chipotle, Taco Bell, and food trucks. I also tried Vietnam noodles there. IT WAS BETTER THAN WHAT I HAD IN TAIWAN. I had the best tuna bagel in my life. A protein free burger(lettuce instead of bread) with CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE.

One of the most grateful thing I met is the Christmas atmosphere. I have to say, I don't have so much feelings of Christmas in Taiwan. The days in states however, was FILLED with Christmas feelings. The Christmas tree photos I took was even more than that I took in Taiwan for like maybe five years or more. I could definitely understand why they love Christmas so much.  I even had a cup of hot chocolate and pieces of chocolate cookies. Also, another interesting I met was-- BLACK FRIDAY SALE. OHHH MYYY GOOOD, I never thought I could have the chance to ever join the black friday sale in my life. Shopping malls were filled with people, and I got my earphone in 65% off.💂💃💃

I don't think I'd ever felt touched seeing any views.(even my dad was surprised about my reaction)=.=👌The trip to America, however, was more than I expected. I was both frightened and excited about the trip at first, but it turned out to be a fantastic dream to me. In fact, I've felt like I'm lost for a really long time. After this amazing trip, I felt a tiny dream floated onto my mind. I don't know what it is, but it definitely changed my entire life. I think I skipped so many parts of my story. But I think the most important thing is for any one of you to find a place where you belong

  1. Hey? Going to the U.S. without even inviting me? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s hard to believe this was already almost half a year ago… Time really flies! Seeing that you had such an amazing week in the U.S. makes me so happy.
Trinity, you seemed to have a great time even without me by your side (wipes tears💅) (And no, I’m not throwing shade at anyone 🤫). I still remember listening to you talk about your experience in the U.S. after you came back to Taiwan—I could really tell how much you loved it there. Hope you get a chance to stay longer in the future! 🙂‍↕️

Also, I loved the souvenir you brought back for me 😭! I was saying how I hadn’t had See’s Candies in so long, and then you actually got me some 😭😭😭. (I still can’t bring myself to eat the last piece… 😿).

  2. Just saw someone my age being so good at writing and taking pictures, day ruined. Thx.🙄🙄

Seriously, how can you be so good at everything? It’s insane. I think I just took a trip to America by reading your article. I think you should be my tour guide if I ever decide to visit the USA. And those pictures? Don’t even get me started. You should teach me how to take such good photos rn!
(Btw, the junky part really scares me, i mean, doing drugs on the street? That’s…💀)

  4. FIRST OF ALL, let me thank god for having such a talented friend. 😳😳🙏🙏Your description skills are not poor, mine are. I like the way you write down every details including the places you went to, food you ate(just like you💅💅), and how different their Christmas is versus ours.
ALSO, adding photos to your article make it even better.(muah🤌🤌) I really want to try tacos and all the other delicacies there. It’s hard to imagine the farewell ceremony to be such a peaceful and healing? occasion. Last, I hope we can go to foreign countries together when we’re older(if we’re still friends 💀💀kidding)I really want to sense the Christmas vibe by my own. Last of the last, thank you for the souvenirs. The lip balm was useful, lollipop and choco tasty as hell.
